Joan Van Ark is an American actress born on June 16, 1943, in New York City. She is best known fore her role of Valene Ewing in Knots Landing, a soap opera made as a spin-off of TV series Dallas, where she played as a guest actress. She has won a Theatre World Award in 1971 and received a Tony nomination for her performance in The School for Wives. She also made appearances in Bonanza, M*A*S*H, The Six Million Dollar Man, Quincy, Kojak, Barnaby Jones. Recently she played a role The Young and the Restless from 2004 to 2005. In 2012 she played a role of Momma in drama Watercolor Postcards.
Joan became an example of how things could go wrong with plastic surgery. She is often mentioned when talking about celebrity plastic surgery disasters.
In 2007 Joan made an appearance at a Hollywood benefit event with heavy make-up which could not hide her shocking looks. With her eyebrows painted, distorted nose, spotted skin and no lipstick on her pale lips she looked as a dead body, some say.
The number of surgeries that she has undergone is unknown but some are easy to be noticed. First of all, her facial skin reveals that she has had too many face-lifts and her slightly smaller nose suggests a rhinoplasty surgery. Comparing her lips today and those in Knots Landing days, they seem fuller today so we can suppose that she has had some collagen injected. Rumors are she had put some cheek implants in her face. Finally, it seems she uses Botox on regular bases.
Do you think Joan’s plastic surgeries have helped her in her late career?
