Marilyn Monroe is the ultimate sex symbol of Hollywood. The American actress made 29 movies and one unfinished film in her time. She was probably the most popular actress between the 1950s and the early 60s. She was well known for her films like Some like it Hot and the movie Gentlemen Prefer Blondes where she sang her iconic rendition of the song Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend. Her bombshell and sex symbol persona took notoriety when she started out as the first cover for Playboy magazine along with her sexy roles in films.
Marilyn Monroe also became a hyped actress with her marriage to baseball superstar Joe DiMaggio and of course her rumored affair with then president of the United States, John F. Kennedy. Monroe died in August 5, 1962 at the age of 31 at her California home with rumors still circulating about the reasons of her untimely death.
One of the things though that was never associated with Monroe was plastic surgery. Marilyn Monroe plastic surgery gossip only came out after her death when Dr. Norman Leaf, a famous Hollywood plastic surgeon, claimed to have talked to the doctor who did plastic surgery for Monroe. Leaf claims that he was able to see the actual medical chart of the Marilyn Monroe plastic surgery and said that she had two major jobs done.
First, he claims that Monroe had a chin implant done based on her medical chart in July 14, 1948. The second operation was done on her nose as part of her cartilage was taken out. All this operations allegedly happened before her big break and before signing with the 20th Century-Fox Studios and before she used the name Marilyn Monroe and dyeing her hair blonde.
Before and after photos of Monroe did add some support to the gossip. She worked as a model before her rise to fame in making movies and there are startling differences to the brunette against the blonde Marilyn Monroe.
Nevertheless, some speculate that the nose procedure done on Monroe was due to a health hazard than for aesthetic purposes. Additionally, the problem was that plastic surgery then wasn’t as good as it is now compared to the 1950s and could not have made such great results. Making more people speculate that the Marilyn Monroe plastic surgery rumor could not be true. Whatever the truth was, Marilyn Monroe remains a Hollywood icon and will still be in the years to come.
